Wiz, a cloud security firm, announced its acquisition of Israeli startup Dazz for $450 million, combining both cash and shares, according to TechCrunch. This strategic move enhances Wiz's suite of services in security remediation and risk management.
Enhancing Product Offerings
Earlier this year, Wiz introduced Wiz Code, a tool aimed at enabling security and development teams to detect and mitigate cloud threats within code before they escalate. The integration of Dazz's technology is set to further enhance Wiz's offerings, allowing for comprehensive management of risks by amalgamating data from diverse sources into a single platform.
Customer-Centric Approach
Assaf Rappaport, CEO and founder of Wiz, emphasized the company's commitment to customer needs in a blog post about the acquisition. "Our focus has always been on assisting organizations to not only recognize risks but effectively address them where it matters most," Rappaport stated.
Improved Risk Management
The inclusion of Dazz's remediation engine allows organizations to manage risks throughout the application lifecycle, from code development to cloud deployment and on-premises infrastructure, as per Rappaport's comments. This aligns with the need for tools that prioritize issues accurately and facilitate effortless collaboration, empowering teams to act swiftly and decisively.
Strategic Investment
Earlier this year, Wiz secured $1 billion for strategic acquisitions. The company previously declined a $23 billion acquisition offer from Google, illustrating its commitment to expanding its capabilities independently.
